St. Paul Winter Carnival in Red

Red is the theme for You Capture this week, and for the first couple of days I was really stumped about what to use for the subject of my pictures.  Then our good friends invited us to attend the St. Paul Winter Carnival parade with them, so I brought my camera along.  And, much to my delight, red was everywhere!

My photo editing expertise leaves much to be desired, so the extent of my editing pretty much constitutes cropping my pictures to follow the rule of thirds.  I've discovered that this one small step makes a huge difference in the presentation of an image.

Aaron & William checking out the ice sculptures

Isn't her snowsuit adorable?  Her dad was in the original shot, but I felt like a stalker putting a close-up of a stranger on my blog.  So I decided to crop him out, and now I like the picture even better!

The Vulcans are a Winter Carnival tradition.

I think this is my favorite picture of the day!

Another image of the bouncing squad.

Completely unrelated to the Winter Carnival, but I had to get a picture of William with a box of raisins.  One of those little red boxes will stop a tantrum dead in its tracks!

Great pictures! I'm jealous of your camera! I'm letting Reagan play with my camera and secretly hoping she'll break it so I can get a new one! :)

Your husband reminds me of someone... a movie star, but I can't figure out who. Hmmmm...
