Cold (sort of)

"Cold" is the theme for You Capture this week, which worked out perfectly for our weekend plans.  We met friends from Madison at a cabin in Black River Falls, WI to spend the weekend "embracing winter" (aka cheaper than going somewhere warm!).  We met them in childbirth class almost two years ago, so they have a boy the same age as William.  We had a wonderful weekend, but I feel I should disclose a couple of things:

1. Most of my pictures are of us enjoying the winter weather.  In actuality, we only spent 1 1/2 of our nearly 48 hours at the cabin outside.  We mostly relaxed in the cabin while eating and drinking copious amounts of homemade food, wine, and coffee (only minimal amounts of the latter two for me!).

2.  While some people from the South might have thought it was cold last weekend, we reveled in the 30+ degree temperatures.  I was too busy taking pictures to wear gloves, and my hands didn't even get cold!

So, with that said, I present you with this week's photos.  It was the perfect way to spend a February weekend!

Aaron and William ready to showshoe.  William wasn't too thrilled about being in the backpack, but he did pretty well.

Finn is such a sweet boy!

I would love to spend a snow filled weekend in a cabin with close friends! What a fantastic time.

That sounds like such a wonderful way to "embrace" the winter. It's sad when 30 degrees sounds warm, but it is, isn't it? Next week we're looking at 50's!!! I'm so excited!

I love the pic of snowshoeing out in the woods. It makes me want to be there. It looks peaceful.
