back in badger town

last weekend we made a 4-day trip back to madison.  aaron had a conference at epic on monday and tuesday, so we headed down the saturday prior to visit with some friends over the weekend.  we had a wonderful time, and william did great!  both aaron and i loved living in madison, and aaron can vouch for the fact that i am a very nostalgic person (he has to hear my family rehash the same stories every time we go to visit my parents!).  but my nostalgia was especially strong on this trip because it was where we lived during my pregnancy, and it was william's first home.  i have such fond memories of those first weeks with william, and because of that madison will always hold a special place in my heart.

i realized after we got home that i didn't take very many pictures, but here are a few.  enjoy!

we met our friends from birth class at la rocca's (one of our favorite madison restaurants).
the boys are all getting so big!

the boys were very interested in the beer cooler!  only 20 years to go...

william with cathy and vito, the owners of la rocca's.  they are such a sweet couple!  and they gave us free dessert.  mmmmm....

melinda knitted that giraffe for william for his birthday!  isn't it so cute?

the friday after we returned home was aaron's 35th birthday!  he shares his birthday with his twin brother adam and their uncle greg (shown below).  aaron and i enjoyed a night out for his birthday while william spent the evening with his aunt, uncle and cousins.  last year aaron spent his birthday waiting on me because i was very pregnant and miserable, so i tried to make up for that this year.  we went out for steak dinner, and i got him his favorite cheesecake and an xbox game.  and we capped off the night with the purchase of a new flat-screen tv!

happy birthday!
