we've had a busy week in the browne household! i've been trying to cut back the amount of time that i spend on the internet lately. it was sucking up too much of my valuable free time, so i decided to take a little hiatus from the computer. so my blog posts might be a bit more infrequent until summer is over, but hopefully all of you are spending more time outside and less time reading blogs during these beautiful summer months!
our dear friends from madison came to visit us for a few days last week. we met adam and megan in birth class, and their adorable son finn is only a few weeks younger than william. it was so fun to catch up with them and watch the boys play together. okay, so at this age it is more like playing near each other rather than with each other.
we went strawberry picking, and we managed to eat all ten pounds of our fresh-picked strawberries within twenty-four hours! megan is a whiz in the kitchen, so she whipped up a yummy tart, and she gave me a bread-baking lesson. i've been baking bread daily since then, and i can tell that my skills are already improving. yesterday i took my first stab at making french baguettes.
they weren't the best baguettes (or the most attractive!) that i've ever had, but they were pretty tasty. at least william thought so:
i roasted the fresh garlic that we got from our csa last week and spread the cloves onto slices of the bread. yum!!!
yesterday was the one-year anniversary of william's baptism. we invited his godparents (my sister and brother-in-law) to join us for dinner, and to light william's baptism candle to remind us all of the promise that we made to guide him on his faith journey. i look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come!
jamie, william's godfather, unfortunately wasn't able to come, but we enjoyed having kim and the girls join us!
i hope you all have a wonderful day!
