william has had lots of summertime fun over the last few weeks! he went on his first trip to the lake with his cousins olivia and violet. kim and i took the three kids down to the beach on medicine lake in plymouth -- what a great beach area! it was a fun way to spend a hot afternoon.
last week william and i went to hyland park in bloomington with amanda, tolkien, talulah, nabila and ephram. the park has a huge recreation area where the older kids played while william and i enjoyed sitting in the shade. i think william will have a lot of fun there when he gets a bit older.
and last sunday we went to a bbq at aaron's aunt and uncle's house in minneapolis for his cousin andrea's birthday party. sarah took william for a dip in the pool in his adorable swim diaper! i think the water was a bit cold for him because he wasn't too crazy about it!
this week we started sleep training with william, meaning we are trying to help him learn how to fall asleep on his own and in his own bed. he has been resistant to the idea so far -- it took over 4 hours to get him to sleep last night! we lie him down awake and talk/sing to him until he is crying; then we pick him up, comfort him, and start over again. aaron was much stronger than me...i wanted to throw in the towel around 1am, but he stuck with it until 2. we are hoping that within a week william will go to sleep easily. wish us luck!
