it's a very good thing that the
Minnesota State Fair only comes once a year, especially considering how much fried food we tend to ingest in just a few short hours. this year we made our excursion with christina and jared, as you'll see in a few of the pics below. we had a fantastic time - of course, mostly eating!!! here's the short list of delectable treats we tried:
- pronto pups
- cheese curds
- mini donuts
- chocolate chip cookies
- all you can drink milk
- 1/3rd pound of bacon on a stick
- draught root beer
- vanilla malts
we did try out a ride that neither of us had ever been on before, but has been a staple for Christina's trips to the fair in years past. Ye Old Mill is clearly a ride designed for hormonal teenagers - the majority of the ride is spent in pitch black tunnels floating down a food colored river. we all had a good laugh over it.
we planned our trip at the start of a five day trip to minnesota; we left the fair and headed to the thronson farm for three days to take family pics. following that we headed back to the cities for a night with the browne clan, and then went back to madison. it was a nice weekend, and we even got to catch up with a few of our friends.
here's a few pics of our trip to the fair. enjoy!!!
ah, the glory of cheese curds!!!
how can you go wrong with a third-pound of bacon on a stick???
some of us get a little excited about the local news...
