Two Much Fun

Over the past week I've had several people ask me about my plans for Mother's Day.  I had to stop and think for a few seconds, and then I would finally remember that Mother's Day was coming up.  I didn't get much of an opportunity to dream about breakfast in bed or other M-Day activities because my thoughts are consumed with thinking about and planning for William's 2nd birthday.  I guess the two holidays go hand-in-hand, thinking about the boy that has made me a mother on the day that mothers are honored.  I was thinking back on the last year, and Aaron and I both agree that the most exciting and noteworthy change has been William's sleep habits.  Since his 1st birthday William went from getting up several times per night to now sleeping through the night about 75% of the time.  I've heard some people say that sleep is overrated.  Oh, that is sooooo not true.  Sleep is wonderful, and we are happy to all be enjoying some rest these days (at least for the next few months!).

Here are some pictures of the big birthday weekend!  We celebrated with a Mickey Mouse themed BBQ on Saturday, and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful!  Unfortunately, in the midst of hosting the party, I didn't get a chance to take very many pictures.  Yesterday (his actual birthday) we went out for breakfast, gave him the gifts from Aaron and me, let him eat another cupcake, went to Nickelodeon Universe at the MOA (he found the actual rides too scary, so instead we rode the elevators and escalators, which he found very entertaining), stopped by the park, and tried out the hand-me-down tricycle from our neighbors.  It was a fun day for all of us!

The party favors, which came to be known as "duddles" instead of "bubbles".
They were cute, but they didn't work!

The cupcakes were both amazingly artistic and delicious!

Family pic at the birthday party.

Enjoying a leftover cupcake on his actual birthday.  Yum!

"Hey Dad!  An airplane!
I haven't seen one of those in about 60 seconds!"

Gotta love the Mickey birthday shirt ordered from Etsy.com!

Carousel = scary

Escalator = fun

Elevator buttons = really fun

His first tricycle ride!

Unrelated to the birthday activities,
but isn't this a cute pic of our furbaby?

Happy Birthday William! It is so cute that you love the elevator and escalator more than the carousel. :) You are too adorable!

Too cute for words. There is no way he is old enough for a trike! What a big boy!
